This trip to Guadalest and Valor choc factory at Villajoyosa was unfortunately cancelled last November due to the Dana, so we are trying again, hopefully with better weather this time! Our coach will leave Oliva at 10 am making the scenic drive to Guadalest where we should arrive at 11:15, you will then have have 4.5 hours free time to explore its many attractions,
Guadalest is lovely village with amazing views. It has lots of lovely shops and restaurants and 3 museums. The Dolls House Museum is much more than dolls houses - it is a work of art by one man. It is incredible. Even though Guadalest only has 240 inhabitants
At 15:30 we will head for Villajoyosa and the Valor choc factory, where we will have an escorted tour in English. The tour will show the complete process of choc making and will end with a visit to their museum and ‘ choco shop’.
The Chocolate Valor Museum, created in 1998, was recognised by the Generalitat Valenciana in 2008 as the Valencian Chocolate Museum.
At the time it was a small family factory, and there you can learn about the chocolate-making process and the whole history of Chocolates Valor from its birth to the present day, through the 5 generations of master chocolatiers who have run it.
It also has one of the best collections of chocolate industry machinery from different periods, from the times when cocoa was ground on stone to the present day.
